We learned how to find the percent of a number today. To find the percent, change the percent into a decimal and multiply it by the other number ( The word of means multiply.)
ex: 75% of 12
75% = 0.75
0.75 x 12 = 9

In Science we had a experiment. We had to do 3 experiments on Stir not to stir, Big crystals vs. small crystals and hot water Vs.cold water

Today in math we had a "game." we had to answer questions about changing percents into fractions and decimals.

Today in ela we are learning about commas. You use a comma... to set off the name of a person who is being addressed, to set set off words like yes, no , well, and oh at the beginning of a sentence, to set off an appositive. Examples are : Emily, are you ready to go? Yes, as soon as i find my jacket. Felix, Emily's dog is entered in a dog show.

In science we learned about solutions. There are three types of solutions, the first is saturated solution, that solution can't hold anymore solute. The next is unsaturated solution, that can hold more solute. The last is super-saturated solution, that solution can hold more solute then it's supposed to.

In ELA we learned how to use commas.
ex. The farmers planted many crops, and they will work long hour to harvest them. The comma goes between crops + and.

Drama

Today in Drama we practise are readers theater.When you pick a readers theater we need to pick one that is not long. Last time we did them we had lots of fun.I hope we have lots of fun next time we preform them.

In Grammer today we did a lesson on "Using End Punctuation." WE learned the period, question mark and exclaimation mark.

You use a period at the end of a declarative sentance:

ex: In Calgary we visited the Glenbow Museum.

You use a question mark at the end of an interrogative sentance:

ex: Hi, how are you?

You use an exclaimation point at the end of an exclamatory sentance and a interjection that shows strong feelings. If a command expresses great excitment, use an exclamation point at the end of the sentence.

ex: Look at the stars!

Today in grammar we learned about end punctuation.
You use a question mark (?) when you are asking a question.
You use a period (.) when you are telling something.
You use an exclamation mark (!) when you are using expression.
ex: How are you? Look out below! The box is big.

how to make a fraction as a percent, you divide the numerator by the denominator

Eg: 2/5 into a % 2 divided by 5= o.4 x 100= 40. so 40% is your percent

Today in Science we are learning about our next topic. It is about solutions and materials.

to change that to a percent you have to multiply the denominator to get 100 so you would multiply the 10 by 10. for the numerator you have to multiply the same number you multiplied when you multiplied the denominator. so the answer would be 10\100.

Yesterday in e.l.a we went over a section of the newspaper. It was the classified section. People/ Businesses put adds in the paper to advertise something. Some types of things you can advertise about are pets/ houses for sale, vans/trucks/snowmobiles/auto for sale, unfurnished/furnished apartments and a whole lot more!

Today we corrected a math test. The math test was called Operations with Integers. An example of multiplying integers is: (+5) x (-8) = (-40) When you have a multiplying question you mutiply the two nimbers than add the positive sign of the negative sign.

In ela we are working on the news paper we have to find a story in the news paper on a topic like local. and then we have to find the:

In grammar today we learned about Using Capital Letters. Here are some rules to using capital letters:
1. Capitalize the first word of a sentence and of each line of poetry.
2. Capitalize the first, last, and all important words in the tiles of books, poems, stories and songs.
3. Capitalize a person's title when it comes before a name.
4. Capitalize abbreviations of days and months, parts and addresses, postal codes, and titles of members of the armed forces. Also capitalize all letters in the abbreviations of provinces.

There were some rules for Using Capital Letters. Here is an example of one:

I am a journalist and my job is researching history and reporting what the other 3 in my group have to say. what one of the facts that I found out about Haiti is that Christopher Columbus was the first to find Haiti!

In math yesterday we learned how to multiply integers. Two positives equal a positive. Two negatives equal a positive. And a positive and a negative equal a negative. EX:

How To Make A Fire

Today in Enrichment we went out side and tried to make a fire.My group did OK but no one was able to make a fire that stay with out the flame going out.This is probably because the stuff we used to make the fire was wet and it should always be dry.We only where able to use the matches that the teacher have us and natural materials like wood.

We are testing different kinds of detergents to remove the stains.

Today was day 5 and we had enrichment. It was a new term so we switched to our
next section. I was in wood working. We did
learn much but we are making a project.
Our choses were:
puzzlechair
footstool
wishing well
etc. I am making a footstool. First you have to draw what you want it to look like. second step is then you get the wood you need and draw it on the wood. third step is then you cut it out with a scroll saw. fourth step is then nail it together. and then the finally step is to paint it. then you have a footstool!

In enrichment we switch topics we had outdoor Ed. We learned how to make fires. We could only use matches and wood to start our fire. We couldn't use lighters or knifes or any materials we had to find our wood to start the fire

Subtracting Integers

When we subtract integers we add the opposite to find the answer. It is very important to show your work while doing this.
